Description of Pieces: These renderings of flowers were created in 2020 and 2021 during the height of the pandemic. At a time when a lot of life felt like a still-life, flowering plants continued to grow in the face of broad stagnation.

Artist Biography: Mike Siegel is a painter and artist inspired by nature, color, and motion. He is a resident of Southwest DC and works full time as an engineering project manager. For Mike, painting is a creative outlet, a way in which to find gratitude and appreciation for small details, surprising colors, and our relationship to things outside ourselves.
