Car Free Day is a free event celebrated internationally every September 22, in which commuters are encouraged to get around without driving alone in cars, and instead, carpool, vanpool, use public transit, telework, bicycle, walk, or scooter. Car Free Day is open to all residents in the Washington, DC metropolitan region.
